Gettin’ down with the get down

The evening didn’t start out this way, but I figured I’d hit you with the hard stuff up front. DCPunk’s Club Cartagena (SLURL) opened Friday with a great set by DJ Margrethe (seen above cow dancing with Republikan candidate Romana Wei and her campaign manager and agitante Myg March). The punrelenting wordplay during this scene was the cause of several asphyxiations due to milk aspiration, and at least one patron had to be tossed out for taking offense and being unable to see past his black-and-white thinking. It was udderly ridiculous. Read on below the fold, it’s worth it. Would I steer you wrong?
Several hours earlier, there was nothing foreshadowing the carnage to come. Behind the bar was none other than DCPunk, outfitted with a brand-new set of katana, enabling him to serve up my favorite drink, milk with knives.
DJ Margrethe was spinning a great set of techno, darker club, retro goth and all kinds of goodies. As soon as we could get the crowd tp’d in, the floor cranked up and DC literally raised the roof as a crew including Synn, Sable, Romana, Aria, Myg, True, and TR Ulysses showed everyone how it’s done. Even the lovely Krystania arrived later and drank us under the table. There were a bunch more excellent avs present, but someone spilled a drink on the paper I had written my notes on and I can’t remember all the names. Here’s Margrethe showing she can rave and spin at the same time:
Pretty soon it was crowded on the floor and Synn climbed up and the bar to get a little more room. I got this shot of her just before she kicked a bottle of JD into the wall and started a fight between TR and some drunk noob while several other innocents cowered in the corner. (Okay, you knew I was going to pump it for all it’s worth.) Synn claimed it was unintentional. Uh huh. I saw the glint in her eye. She swore it was a piece of glass.
Soon after that, the bovine dance accoutrements came out and things got really ugly. All in all, it was a night of nights, though one that will feel routine at Club Cartagena as the scene builds. You can expect to find Margrethe spinning there, as well as several other notables. DC has offered me a regular slot as well. I’ll let you know as soon as the schedule gets posted.
what is this, some kind of political sabotage? you think we don’t know people who know people who are gonna have a lot to say about those dirty dairy queen pics getting into the limelight?
Look, I’ll simply point out that you already posted a picture of candidate Wei and yourself with the cows in the post directly below this one. Admittedly, people may be slightly less likely to notice them in that pic because they will be focused on the lovely Ms. Abbatoir, but you can hardly blame me for opening the barn door.
