What ho? What’s this? We hear from Tao Takashi that the folks over at Electric Sheep have developed a new way to search for stuff you want on SL. You can try this baby at search.sheeplabs.com:

What’s the big deal, you ask? Ever notice how shit is hard to find, and that the SL search function is really lame for most things? Well this indexes stuff sort of like google and makes a huge database of everything that’s for sale. You access from the web, but it gives you the SLURL to tp right to where you can buy the thing you want.

Are there drawbacks? Probably, and Tao has listed a few things for a potential wishlist, so if you want to know more please go read his post. As far as I can tell, this beta search is well worth trying given how many times I’ve ripped my hair out trying to search for obscure items like “industrial sink” or “beat to shit watertower.”
