This old shop

This is Hope Paravane. She’s a friend of mine and one of the contractors I’m working with trying to restore the Mainline Barbershop for my grandfather. Hope runs a store. Logically enough, it’s called Hope’s Store (Arrowtown, 156, 116, 100). She specializes in gazebos, fountains, indoor furniture, and, er, vampire decor. Last week she custom-built the new sinks for the shop.
The next step in the restoration after Sable–the owner and proprietor of Blood Orchid–had built me some new barber chairs was to find sinks. You can see Hope and I standing there discussing room dimensions in front of Sable’s chairs. I had ripped out the old sinks in the shop and couldn’t find the right replacements. Actually, I had ripped out everything right down to the bricks. But I’m talking about the sinks here. You need running water to clean the razors, so you gotta have sinks. I combed the grid looking for the right, simple shop sinks but found only overblown bathroom sets or ultra modern kitchen designs. Not the thing for a Philly barbershop at all. Dazed from teleporting all over creation, I stumbled into Hope’s one morning last week where she was cheerfully working. I’m a sucker for service, and she was friendly and helpful, and when I asked about sinks, she showed me one she was working on but hadn’t yet completed. It was almost exactly what I was looking for. When I said “almost,” she said, “Well, what would make it perfect?” I said I wanted it to look more worn out–her design was just too clean for an old shop. She knew exactly what I was talking about. Within hours she had the custom work done and came by the shop to install them–complete with drippy faucets and hand-washing animation.

/me bangs on rusty old pipes with an enormous wrench. drip. drip. drip. /me hurls wrench at the brick wall in disgust.
When’s grampa coming?
hold yr horses. I have to put the wall up and get him a cot and a dresser. And a mirror. Maybe a potted plant or two. And a sign. Then grandpa can move in.
And don’t bang on the pipes! What if they spring another leak? I’m no plumber and you know your uncle will never drive all the way out here.
alex! thats so dam cool, with handwash animation! this shop is so gonna ” rock the catbox “. btw…if you want some diffr textures on the chairs, check out the chair i have sitting out behind the soupkitchen. not that sables textures are bad.. no no no, never.

ps: can’t wait to meet the grandfather
Hey Alex! The shop is going to look fantastic! I can’t wait to meet grampa either.
p.s. Gala, yes the textures are bad, I only had the generic leather one from SL.
sable, no they are not bad… you made these, sable, and you know you have an incredible hands on design. no one has anything like these chairs in sl, which makes it good. i love everything you make woman. you have more talents that you are giving yourself credit too.
