Fight for Topgol–Second Life server troubles

What’s wrong with this picture? Okay, none of yr smartass comments about “You’re in it, Burgess.” Shut up. I’ll tell you. First: No ao. I don’t use that Linden Lab default stick-up-the-ass stand even when I’m constipated. Second: No hair, when I happened to want hair. Third: No boots. What are those little black booties? Pumps? And what is up with Linden Lab’s idea of avatar feet? They’re ugly enough when everything’s working. I know you sickos want to stare, so hit “more” and take a good gander. Just make sure you’re not eating.
Disgusting. That was me about 2:30 a.m. Second Life time. It was happening all day yesterday, early this morning and is probably happening this moment. And not everywhere. Nope. Just in Topgol. Figures.
When I logged in, my ao wouldn’t start. My hair wouldn’t appear. My shoes wouldn’t appear. I couldn’t rez anything, not even on my own land. Sable reported that she and Diane were having similar trouble. I am going to bite the bullet and attempt to reach live help later today. Furthermore, if I stuck around for too long I would crash, and I couldn’t teleport out of Topgol. No, I had to fly to a neighboring region and TP from there. It was like the machinima version of The Great Escape all day. Adding insult to injury, when I would pick a target to fly toward, I’d see this on the map:
Yep. 12 Ah has done that stupid thingy and labeled his casino on the big map. Does that count as advertising? Topgol must be one of the crappiest servers in the whole stack. I’ll report back and give you an update on my experience, or more likely, non-experience, dealing with Linden Lab’s support system.
And one last thing. In the middle of all the bullshit, frames-per-second were bouncing wildly, with several occurances of 1 fps. That ain’t lag, that’s a cement coffin. Most of the time it was pinging between good class 4 (is that right? or am I man-facting?) performance (43-45 fps) and molasses (13-17 fps). Is lag what counts as weather in the metaverse? A private island sounds better all the time.
Well, we always knew Myg was the more fashionable from the couple.
But I see why you can’t move around on such feet…

He looks like he’s on hooves for gods sake. And I was crashing once every 5 minutes–and that is rare for me. So some bullshit is definitely up. It’s getting so bad I don’t even know who to blame anymore–casino? New shitty mall? Linden Lab? One thing I do know, having invested a significant chunk of change to own land in Topgol, this is totally fucking unacceptable. And I thought Live Help didn’t exist anymore either. Maybe Burgess knows something we don’t!
Man, that sucks ass. Is it weird I still think Burgess is hot, even bald and with hooves? lol
Sad, but true. I had similar problems when I visited yesterday. Tried to wear that nice sign Alex gave me, but it was nowhere to be seen … and walking felt like wading through the swamp, just as it always does in Topgol.
BTW, that big red CASINO on the map has been there for a while. I already saw it when I first visited you there.
Sadly, Topgol lag is notorious these days. However, I visited Sunday evening around 11pm SLT when no one was around and was able to experience an average 11-13fps, my record best for the area. Still not ideal by any means, and had there been other residents in the area I’m sure my fps would have dropped - definitely calls for more investigation into the matter, it’s like there’s a memory leak in that sim or something.
