JellyBean’s third rezday
Posted by Burgess
This is the summer of parties. This is the summer we’ll be talking about in ten years. These are the good times. The place to be last night in Second Life was head MeanGirl JellyBean Madison’s third rezday party. That’s right, you read that correctly. Third. That makes Jelly an oldbie compared to the vast majority of residents, she’s like six times older than me right now. And three years in SL is like 30 in first life. But one of the many beautiful things about SL is that it gets better with age, just like first life, only you don’t have to work quite as hard. The party for the princess of pink (sorry JB and Hawks, “queen” doesn’t alliterate with “pink”) was filled with snapshots of Jelly and friends from their many adventures and was a trip through SL history. Hawks deejayed and had everyone groovin’ for hours, including a special set from him to Jelly and a true skanking rude boy ska mix that had my head bopping so much my neck is sore this morning as I write this. There was a mix of witty banter in text chat and a series of ever-bombing but yet strangely hysterical shoe jokes coming in from the group in voice. Lots of the bloggers showed up, natch, as well as a plethora of Jelly’s huge circle of awesome friends–including some names that had me shutting up and just takin’ pics. A pink time was had by all. See more after the jump.
Tiana looked stunning and cool as usual. Okay, so maybe she wasn’t wearing pink, but she was dancing on pink, and thank god she was holding a bottle of Mountain Dew or I would have had trouble talking to her. But a Dew is always an ice breaker. You can’t use that without my permission, MD marketing people. That’s mine.
Esteban came in full swat gear providing security and did a great job–not an incident was noted all evening, save one shoe-up-the-ass problem that was investigated and attributed to accrued karma resulting from bad-mouthing an earlier shoe joke.
October was there shakin’ it and putting us all to shame. I kept getting distracted and winding up out of sync in my tango with Myg. Man, did I pay for that later.
Speaking of tango, there we are at one of our better moments. For a few seconds, I felt like I knew what Borges was talking about.
There were many others there who I didn’t know, including the lovely Tilde (did I remember that name correctly?) who was brilliant in top hat, cane, and black lace.
My apologies to the rest of you lovely people who came dressed to the nines and partied like it was 1999 all over again. I’m still getting used to a new graphics card and not all the pics rezzed out like I hoped. I’ll get you into the social pages the next time around. Thanks JellyBean for sharing your rezday celebration with all of us and for making so many second lives just that much more pink. Here’s to many more!

What a hoot, eh?
it was an awsome party and even all the problems in sl could stop us ^^
also i got to say, alex thats some awsome pics you took, i think you captured my good side hehe
AWWWWW omg! *wipes tear* I LOVE YOU MAN! I couldn’t ask for a better group to come into my SLife. I was a lil nervous about Bloggers meeting Tringo’ers, but hey the bloggers out numbered the tringo peeps. YAY! Thank you for the great pics & for making my rezz day the blast that it was.
OK the shoe jokes were
Hmmm – that was weird.
The shoe jokes were hilarious…but what you missed was of course, the strip Tringo later on. I lost my shoes and logged off out of fear. But it was my first Tringo attempt ever. I somehow think it may be my last lol.
Nice to meet you.
@Gillian – I missed strip Tringo? Dammit. I would certainly have lost my clothes as fast as you feared you were going to. Only last week I was still under the impression that Tringo was some kind of trivia-bingo combination and was surprised to find out that it involves Tetris-like skillz. I would be in serious trouble. Nice meeting you, too.
Wow, awesome write up and pics Alex. I know it was a great party cuz I feel like I am sporting a major hangover this morning after getting up early… lol. Very glad that you and Myg could make it…
I am sure we will see you tonight at clockwork..
Party was off the hook, so many memories and blasts from the past were there, and yes the after party of strip tringo was where the fun all started.
