Live your god damned dream

It’s not Monday. So there will be music at Clockwork and… shopping?

Sable and Burgess

The Anti-Monday party at Clockwork is on as (un)usual tonight, though unfortunately Esteban will not be able to make an appearance, as (s)he is either on a super-secret mission or there is some foul play involved. It’s certain to be mysterious and involve the struggle for existence.

DJ keTchUp will be bringing you at least two hours of head-bobbing, booty-shaking indie rock 7 pm SL time. So show up and tell Santa just what you want for the holidays. He knows just how bad you’ve been and he’s gonna let you in on a little secret.

Wrong at Mainline Shopping in Topgol

Speaking of holiday gifts, the new Mainline shopping area just across the street from Clockwork is opening. Affiliates of the very excellent Wrong clothing brand and the Reaction surf shop have moved in already, and you can even listen to the Clockwork dj stream while you shop. What more could you ask for? (If you’re a business owner or have an idea for the area, please IM Burgess or Myg about it.) And of course, we do have a small stake in these businesses for rent or a small commission, so by shopping there you help to pay for the Clockwork stream and tier fees.

We thank each and every one of you for the time you spend dancing in the club and the wonderful community of friends and music geeks you help to create. Happy Holidays and stay tuned for more news from your pals in Topgol.

Once again, tonight is on!

Two hours of Alex !!! And shopping !?! Man, take a day and a half off and shit happens. Glad I stayed out of people’s way…you’d still be humouring me and have nothing done by now. Now all we need is Esteban.

    yeah! Garrett
    Actually, “Wrong”&”Reaction”is so cool.

I want to go shopping there with Esteban*
Do you remember our X`mas party plan, Esteban?

Sigh…so I checked out the cool threads at Reaction and Wrong…bought blue camo jeans and a (prim!) hoodie. Boy do those stores look awesome in front of Clockwork. And hearing Alex’s tunes while shopping only added to the fun.

Then I crashed. Big Time. I tried to reboot my laptop, but…nothing…just the fan and 3 little lights…no hard drive. I finally managed to get thing turned back on, and I immediately spent the next 90 minutes backing up my files. Whew! That was close. So, sorry I wasn’t there last night Alex. I’m calling the repair shop this morning. Hold your breath for Wednesday. :(

wow that’s a horror story Garrett! No worries about missing the fun - we were having all kinds of weird shit in the club (like poor lulu floating all night!). Hope your machine is feeling better, and thanks for supporting Clockwork with your consumering!

hmmm…I had been floating too! Has anyone checked how many prims that rooftop Christmas tree has?

  6. Burgess December 4th, 2007 12:42 pm

it wasn’t the christmas tree–we took it down. The whole physics of the sim were screwy for the better part of the night, but not for everyone. You could do some wild anti-grav effects with prims though, which was fun.

Hope yr ‘puter gets fixed. No computer is no fun.

  7. Wrath December 4th, 2007 3:38 pm

Yeah, I wanted the screwy physics and for whatever reason I wasn’t affected, but it was pretty fun watching some of the other people suddenly float to the ceiling for no apparent reason, hehe. (The tree wasn’t up for long, and it was only 22 prims, although it did use a giant prim, but Alex didn’t experience any floating issues when I tp’d him over to my house right next to the same tree I have set up there, and people were still being affected long after the tree came down…)

I think Topgol was sucking my framerates somehow - I watched over the course of an hour or so as they kept steadily dropping until I got under 1.5 fps finally and thus crashed, and decided to call it a night - before hearing any of The Smiths, I might add!! That is, if there was any ever played. But no, instead, I had to sit through an entire Roxette tune - the agony! heh ;-)

why is everybody hatin’ on poor Wrat’s tree? Oh wait, I blamed teh tree too! We always need a culprit, don’t we?

  9. Burgess December 4th, 2007 4:02 pm

That tree wasn’t the only giant prim in Topgol.

Yes, Wrath, The Smiths were played. I won’t tell you which song though. You have to guess. I’ll play them again for you, mixed in with some of your other favorites from Dif Juz and Aztec Camera.

That poor (giant) tree, at least I captured it in all its glory before any rioting started. (Photo)

You’re right, DJ kEtchUp - I don’t know which song by The Smiths you played, but I’m wagering it wasn’t this one:

    Burn down the disco
    Hang the blessed dj
Because the music that they constantly play
It says nothing to me about my life
    Hang the blessed dj
Because the music they constantly play…

    “Panic” by The Smiths

  11. Burgess December 4th, 2007 5:56 pm

Wrath, you get no points for guessing what it was not. And I’m giving you an automatic two-question trivia penalty for taunting me with that anti-dj screed from the uberwhiner.

    P.S. That’s “keTchUp.” Sheesh.
